Ommegang


Ommegang is Brussels, Belgium’s spectacular pageant each July, commemorating Emperor Charles V’s Joyous Entry and the city’s living folklore. A ceremonial crossbow competition at the Sablon leads into a torchlit procession of costumed riders, guilds, flags, and giant puppets winding to the Grand-Place, where a grand show unfolds amid medieval music and choreography.
